Get your accountant before you need one.
Not after the first tax bill lands.
Not when the penalty notice arrives.
Before any of that.
A good accountant does not just tidy up after you.
They help you set things up correctly from the start.
The right structure. The right records. The right habits.
Done well, it saves you money, time, and a great deal of stress.
The second thing I would say is this. When choosing an accountant, think carefully about communication.
Will they explain things clearly?
Will they be accessible when you need them?
Will they tell you what is coming before it arrives?
Those things are worth asking about upfront.
Starting a business is brave. Make sure the people around you are worthy of that bravery.
