Healing the Patterns That Keep Us From Love

Healing the Patterns That Keep Us From Love

We often long for love. That deep desire to be held, to be seen, to be loved. And yet, somehow, we find ourselves sabotaging relationship after relationship.

We begin to question ourselves.

“Maybe I’m not made for this.”
“Maybe relationships just aren’t for me.”
“Maybe love is for others… not for me.”

This reminds me of a client of mine, let’s call her Georgia.

She realised she had been running away. Every time a relationship reached around the 4–5 month mark, she just knew she would end it. It was almost programmed.

The only time she stayed longer was because she wanted children. Even then, she eventually left. She ran away again.

During our sessions, we uncovered what was really beneath it all: guilt, fear of rejection, and deep fear triggered by loud voices from her childhood.

After just the first session, something shifted. She described a huge release in her heart space.

For the first time in a long time, she felt safe enough to open her heart again.

Later that day, she instinctively went to hug her adult son. No overthinking. No hesitation. Just a spontaneous outpouring of love.

That’s what happens when we release the weight of the past.

And it’s never too late. Georgia is in her late 60s.

Stories like this fill me with so much joy and fulfilment, because real change is always possible.
